How Is Wall Tile Held Up

You probably know that ceramic tile is available in lots of sizes all the way from 1 square inch usually sold attached to sheets that are 12x12 inches all the way up to 18 inches.

How is wall tile held up.

Place the mosaic sheets along the wall. Instead bring it up to about 3 4 of the height of your tiles. Test a tile to make sure the mortar is mixed and spread correctly. A batten board is nothing more than a 1 x4 or 1 x2 board screwed directly into the wall horizontally.

Hold the trowel at about a 45 degree angle from the wall. This will create the necessary ridges in the adhesive to allow for the tile to stick to the wall. The obvious way to tile a wall is to start at the bottom and work your way up. Don t start it at the floor.

Cleaning porcelain tile is a breeze. Slightly rock the sheet up and down perpendicular to the trowel lines to collapse the ridges and help the tile settle into place. Some porcelain floor tile is made to look like stone and while it might hold up just as well it will cost less. In high traffic areas porcelain floor tile is an excellent choice and will out perform other tiles in both long term appearance and durability.
